Analysis of Opioid-Related Deaths in Ontario July 2017 – June 2018

There is a need to better characterize and understand the factors that lead to opioid-related deaths in Ontario. The Ontario Drug Policy Research Network, the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and Public Health Ontario have co-published a report that describes the current trends and characteristics of confirmed opioid-related deaths in Ontario between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018.

The report aims to advance understanding of the current rise of opioid-related deaths, as well as inform public health practice and system planning that addresses opioid-related harms in the province.
