Privacy Policy

The Ontario Drug Policy Research Network (ODPRN) supports and is committed to the transparency of its review processes. Comments provided to ODRPN on the “Comprehensive Research Plans” and the “Draft Documents of Drug Class Reviews” as well as responses from the ODPRN, are posted on the ODPRN website. Individual persons providing public comment could request that their names and their affiliations not be made publicly available. Comments made on behalf of organizations and companies include the name of the organization and/or company. Contact information was only used to clarify questions about submitted comments.

Any information provided as “Evidence Submissions” was made public by the ODPRN.  The contents of all submissions of scientific material (“Evidence Submissions”) was summarized in the reports produced by ODPRN and made available to the public upon request. Materials communicated as confidential to ODPRN were not used in the report.

Exception: The ODPRN considered scientific materials (“Evidence Submission”) in confidence if awaiting academic publication. Academic in confidence information is information provided in confidence in circumstances where disclosure could prejudice future publication of the information in a scientific publication. It was expected that any information marked as academic in confidence is going to be published at some stage and that a timeline for publication could be given.

In some circumstances, information from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care (Ontario Public Drug Programs) was exempt from this policy due to the sensitive nature of the data.
