Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on prescription stimulant use among children and youth

A population-based study

The mental health and well-being of children and youth, particularly those with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), were significantly affected by public health restrictions implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic. The impact of the pandemic on the patterns of prescription stimulant use, the main medication used for children and youth with ADHD, is not fully understood.

This study examined the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on prescription stimulant use among individuals aged 0 to 24 in Ontario, Canada.
