Our Impact

The ODPRN’s innovative model—bringing together researchers, decision-makers, and people with lived experience—has earned international recognition for driving evidence-informed policy and directly informing drug policy. Our work has shaped policies at regional, provincial, national, and international levels, improving system efficiency, quality of care, and health outcomes. ODPRN’s impact has been nationally recognized with awards such as the Bruce Squires Award for the CMAJ article most likely to influence clinical practice and the Institute of Public Administration of Canada Public Sector Leadership Award for impact. Key areas of influence include the opioid toxicity crisis, formulary modernization, biologics and biosimilars, drug shortages, and diabetes care.
